As you are making plans for the future, we encourage you to attend Concordia's Servants of Christ Conference to learn more about what it means to be a servant of Christ in your studies, in your work, and in all of your relationships.
Register View Tentative ScheduleLearn about the biblical teaching of vocation: As you look to the future, you may be asking yourself questions like these: What am I good at? What do I enjoy doing? What will allow me to make a fair amount of money? These are reasonable questions, but here are some other questions to consider: What does God want me to do? How will I serve God by serving others as I do my work well? The Servants of Christ Conference will help you to wrestle with these questions as well as questions about how your college education will shape your faith and how you might be a blessing to every person you encounter.
Get information about college and careers: Whether you are considering full-time church work, education, medicine, business, computers, or any of a number of other areas of study, the Servants of Christ Conference will give you the opportunity to learn more about the education required and about career opportunities that might be a good fit for you. You will also get tips on how to use your high school education to prepare for college and how to choose a college that will work well for you.
Take part in sessions that will help you to grow in your faith: The Servants of Christ Conference will also offer sessions on such topics as how to manage anxiety in Christ, proof from archeology that the Bible is true, and how to relate to Critical Race Theory with the truth of God鈥檚 Word and the Love of His Gospel.
Forgiveness is at the heart of the Christian faith. God forgives us our sins in Christ Jesus. God then calls us to forgive one another as he has forgiven us. This session explores what forgiveness is, how we show it to one another, and how forgiveness draws us closer to our family, friends, and others.
The petals of a lily are never wrinkled with worry. How do they do it? How do the birds trust the God who made them? We are so much more than lilies and birds and we worry so very much more. Yet the Bible has wonderful advice on how we might turn from worry to prayer, from dark memories to the light, from bitterness to thanksgiving. Join Dr. Paavola as we discuss how the words of Jesus and Paul give us hope in an anxiety-filled world.
Come and explore what it means to better understand our life and relationship with God, the various callings He gives to us, and how Concordia University can help you grow as God鈥檚 servant.
