Invest in yourself

Earning a graduate degree can help set you apart from the norm. Workers with graduate degrees (master's, doctoral, or advanced professional degrees) report the highest earnings and lowest unemployment rates. According to Economic Policy Institute, receiving a graduate degree could result in a 25% increase in average wages from just an undergraduate. The difference becomes even more impactful for you over time. The median master’s degree increases lifetime earnings by roughly $83,000 after accounting for the costs of graduate school, according to Pew Research Center.
